During your rental

What is the 407 ETR?

The 407 ETR is an electronic toll highway system in Toronto which identifies vehicles by license plate photo and/or transponder. To avoid delays, there are no toll booths to accept cash. Instead all charges are billed by the 407 ETR to the registered vehicle owner.  If you choose to use the 407 ETR, you will be charged for all of the applicable toll charges billed to your rental vehicle by the 407 ETR, which are based on distance traveled, time of day and week, account fees and non-transponder fees, plus harmonized sales tax. You will also be charged an administration fee of $14.00 CAD per rental. Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Canada Inc. will automatically charge your credit card and you should expect to be billed approximately one month after the vehicle rental.
